What's in the name

The name

Coach + Yantra

A coach holds space for someone’s growth.

The word has Sanskrit roots. It comes from yam, which means “to hold,” “to sustain,” or “to control,” combined with tra, meaning “instrument” or “tool.”

CoachYantra™ brings the two together. You hold the conversation. It holds the practice.

Why it was built

The coaching was never the hard part.

A solo coach is also the salesperson, the scheduler, the contract desk, the collections team and the bookkeeper. Each job is small. Together they take the hours and the attention a session deserves.

The tools that exist were built for salons, gyms or sales teams. None of them knows an ICF hour from a billable minute, a three-way agreement from a quote, or why a coach’s notes must stay private.

Who built it

Built by a coach who felt it.

ICF PCC1,600 hours30 years in corporate life

I have coached for five years as an ICF Professional Certified Coach, and logged every one of my 1,600 hours by hand. I sent the invoices and followed them up, rescheduled the sessions, chased the payments, and tried to keep my learnings and reflections somewhere I could find them again.

I wanted that to be easier, so I built the instrument I wished I had, with a buffer after every session, which I learnt the hard way.

Before coaching: thirty years in corporate life, the last decade as a managing director and board member, including the Indian arm of RELX PLC.

How the trial works

Request. Your name, email, where you practise and your highest ICF and EMCC credentials, with the jobs you picked if you want.
We read it, and send your access link. It comes to your email and opens your account. There is nothing to install.
Set up once, then 30 days with everything working. Your practice name, rates and how you log hours. No payment details, so nothing is charged when the trial ends.

Privacy first

Who sees what.

Do you record sessions?

No. CoachYantra™ never records, transcribes or summarises a session. There’s no transcript field in the database, and a built-in check fails any change that adds one.

Who can see what?

You see your whole practice. Your coachee sees only their own space. A company sees only the report items its agreement allows. Other coaches see nothing of yours.

What is encrypted?

Your private notes and journal, your coachee’s journal and commitments, messages between you, and calendar entry titles, each encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it reaches the database.

Where is my data held?

In India, in Mumbai. Each practice is walled off from every other in the database itself, and that wall is tested on every build.

Can I download my data?

Yes, whenever your practice is open and for 30 days after it ends, as one spreadsheet.
